In this video I review the very popular P90X fitness program and then give you a free alternative thats even better. I get asked so often what I think of the P90X program that I thought it important to do a video on the subject. Here is what I say about P90X • “Anything that gets people excited about working out regularly is a very good thing and people get very, very excited about P90X.” Good points first: P90X is simple, you just look at your calendar and see which DVD to pop in. P90X has brought fitness into the lives of countless people who would otherwise be couch potatoes, they have made fitness popular and I applaud them for that. Now the bad points. The biggest problem in my opininon is that the program is used to push their expensive supplements and other products, this is really slimy in my opinon. The other problem is that the program is very limited, it doesnt grow with you as your ability grows. Another thing I worry about is that the “90 day” program encourages dangerous short term thinking. To me fitness and true health is a lifestyle, not a 90 day project. Minor complaints are that people find the program boring toward the end and get tired of hearing the same jokes time and time again -ah, deal with it. People get good results from P90X but people get GREAT results from using my free website and videos and I dont recommend you buy *anything*!. I started P90X Round 2 {Day 1} on ChaLEAN Extreme Round 1 {Day 22}! I actually found that each program goes hand in hand when placed next to each other. Granted I am nearly 1/3 of the way through ChaLEAN, but that’s OK. I won’t actually complete a full run through P90X Round 2 because I plan to start a dedicated “P90X Reloaded” phase after ChaLEAN. Setup kind of like the ChaLEAN Team Xtreme Skype Group we have going but for P90X. I’ll explain more in coming months so you can get involved! This is what my new Routine looks like without looking at the P90X Rest week. Keep in mind I am doing P90X “Classic”. Also, I am spreading out my P90X workouts and ChaLEAN Extreme workouts by at least 2 hours in the day. Day 1: P90X Chest and Back – Ab Ripper X – ChaLEAN Burn Circuit One Day 2: P90X Plyometrics – ChaLEAN “Day Off” Day 3: P90X Shoulders and Arms – Ab Ripper X – ChaLEAN Burn Circuit Two Day 4: P90X Yoga X – ChaLEAN Burn Intervals – ChaLEAN Ab Burner Day 5: P90X Legs and Back – Ab Ripper X – ChaLEAN Burn Circuit Three Day 6: P90X Kenpo X – ChaLEAN Burn it Off – Recharge Day 7: REST! Hello everyone. So fhe purpose of this video is to again remind you that ‘The Maya Diaries’ is still going and to let you know what I am up to. However the main reason for my new episode is to introduce myself on the P90X home fitness system (sorry, extreme home fitness system). I want to start going throughout this home workout on Monday the 15th of Novemeber. Hopefully this workout schedule will sypliment my normal excersices and should help with my stamina. If anyone out there would like to do this work out with me then have a search for the DVD’s online or if you just want to see my progress the have a look at my blog (still under construction).
